Department Overview:

The Office of the Registrar ensures institutional compliance and safeguards the integrity of academic records by managing critical student data, academic histories, and policy implementation to support students, faculty, and staff.

Level Scope:

Applies skills and job knowledge in area of specialization; may adapt procedures, operations, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment to meet needs of area of specialization; may work on non-routine tasks; resolves issues/makes working decisions within area of specialization or responsibility with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

Along with other duties, the primary responsibilities of this position are:

Transcript and Graduation Evaluation

  • Conduct comprehensive degree audits and graduation evaluations, process applications, update records, and handle academic adjustments to ensure all university requirements are met for degree conferral.

Transfer Credit and Nontraditional Credit Evaluation

  • Evaluate and apply transfer, military, and nontraditional credit by interpreting articulation agreements, ACE recommendations, and university policies to independently determine degree applicability.

Transfer Equivalency and Curriculum Management

  • Manage and update course articulation rules in the Transfer Evaluation System (TES) to align incoming coursework with the current institutional curriculum and catalog policies and changes.

Student Records and Academic Systems Administration

  • Manage student records, academic transactions, and electronic workflows via Perceptive Content and related systems, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.

Policy Interpretation, Consultation, and Technical Expertise

  • Serve as the subject-matter expert on academic policies and degree processes, interpret complex university policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with institutional, state, and accreditation requirements when assisting students, faculty, and staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Ability to balance competing priorities and time-sensitive tasks, leveraging strong written and verbal communication skills and expertise in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience: monitoring record systems to identify and correct errors; interpreting, explaining, and applying laws, regulations, and complex policies for multiple or highly specialized programs; analyzing information and researching a variety of sources to identify and resolve problems or issues; dealing with individuals from varying cultural and socio-economic backgrounds in stressful situations; entering and retrieving data using a computerized record system; composing and proofreading business correspondence.

Salary and Benefits:

Each year, Boise State University prepares an Annual Security Report and Annual Fire Safety Report as part of the University's commitment to safety and security on campus and in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Police and Crime Statistics Act.
