Position overview:
The Boise State University Department of Strategy and Entrepreneurship, within the College of Business and Economics, is hiring an assistant professor in the area of strategy to begin Fall 2027.
Our department and college value both teaching and research, so a strong candidate will have both a stream of research in progress and the aspiration to excel as a teacher. This position will teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in strategy in face-to-face and online formats. The initial teaching load is 2-2 for the first three years. The standard teaching load is 3-3 with reductions to 2-3 or 2-2 dependent upon research productivity. A commitment to service and collegial interaction with other faculty, staff, and students is expected.
Department overview:
The Department of Strategy and Entrepreneurship is a new department in the College of Business and Economics. The Department houses faculty who teach in Strategy, Entrepreneurship, International Business, Business Ethics, and Legal Studies. The department also houses the College’s undergraduate degree programs in Entrepreneurship and International Business, while its faculty teach courses that are part of the core business curriculum and support programs throughout the College.

The college’s academic units are housed in the Micron Business and Economics Building, a world-class facility with state-of-the-art classrooms and offices, a Bloomberg-equipped trading room, faculty collaboration spaces, the Imagination Lab, a student commons, and a cafe. The building is a short distance from the beautiful Boise River. It is both geothermal and solar-assisted. This environment stimulates collaboration and creativity.

Minimum qualifications:

A Ph.D. degree at the time of appointment in strategy or a related field

Evidence of research/scholarly activity and potential

Evidence of teaching effectiveness
Preferred qualifications:

Ph.D. from a nationally or internationally accredited AACSB business school

Refereed journal publications in strategy or related fields

Teaching experience in strategy at the university level

Demonstrated service to the campus, local community, state, and other areas on a professional level

Ability to work cross-discipline with entrepreneurship faculty

Professional business experience

Salary and Benefits:
Salary is competitive with AACSB medians based on comparable business colleges: $131,900.
