Job Summary/Basic Function:

Perform specialized human resource and administrative support work that promotes accurate, timely, and compliant human resource services and records; provide responsive customer service to employees and campus partners; and perform related work.

This position may have the opportunity to work a hybrid work schedule (where a mix of in-person work from a Boise State worksite and an alternative work location within the state of Idaho is utilized) after an agreed-upon probationary/training period. Candidates must be able to work on-site as needed.

This position is not eligible for VISA sponsorship.

Level Scope:

Applies skills and job knowledge in area of specialization; may adapt procedures, operations, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment to meet needs of area of specialization; may work on non-routine tasks; resolves issues/makes working decisions within area or specialization or responsibility with minimal supervision.

Essential Functions:

● Deliver exceptional HR service and support to employees, faculty, staff, and campus partners, serving as a trusted first point of contact for HR-related questions and needs.
● Manage and respond to HR inquiries through the HR Processor inbox and ServiceNow ticketing system, and other communication methods, ensuring timely, accurate, and customer-focused resolutions.
● Provide responsive support by phone and in-person, helping customers navigate HR processes and connecting them with the appropriate resources.
● Build strong partnerships across the campus community by serving as a knowledgeable and approachable liaison between Human Resources and campus stakeholders.
● Serve as an essential member of Boise State’s HR Processing team, ensuring timely and accurate HR transactions that directly support employees throughout their employment lifecycle.
● Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR systems, ensuring information is current and accessible for critical university processes.
● Review and track personnel records and employment actions to ensure alignment with federal and state regulations, university policies, and HR requirements.
● Perform accurate data entry and transaction processing that directly supports on-time and accurate pay for faculty, staff, and student employees.
● Partner with the HR Processing team to manage daily priorities, shifting workloads, and seasonal HR activities, providing flexibility and support during high-volume periods.
● Contribute to the whole HR Operations team and support the Front Desk functions as needed.
● Will perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

● Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally to convey information effectively.
● Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer and personnel services.
● Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems.
● Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and handle sensitive employee information appropriately.

Minimum Qualifications:

Some knowledge of: human resource management concepts.

Good knowledge of: administrative support functions including organizational skills, composing business documents, compiling and summarizing data, and customer service.

Experience: interpreting and applying employment laws, rules, regulations, and policies.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong basic applied knowledge of Gmail, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Suite applications.

Salary and Benefits:
The minimum starting salary for this position is $20.28/hr, consistent with the established pay grade. Starting Compensation above the minimum may be considered based on the selected candidate's relevant experience, education, qualifications, and other job-related factors (in accordance with the University's compensation practices).
