The Director of Accessible Education is responsible for ensuring compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the ADA Amendments Act, and related federal and state regulations as they pertain to students. Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Students, the Director manages day-to-day operations of the office, coordinates the logistics of testing and other reasonable accommodations, and provides front-line guidance and assistance to students, parents, faculty, and staff. The Coordinator is responsible for supporting the work of the Integrated Well-Being Team throughout the student experience. The Coordinator of Student Well-Being also supports case management for students experiencing complex challenges. The primary responsibility of the Coordinator will be providing clinical case management for students with complex health concerns. A secondary focus of case management responsibilities for the role is providing support for students with psychiatric concerns and/or generalized case management needs. Case management is an important aspect of supporting student Well-Being.
Assistant Director for Campus Life	Lewiston, ME
The Assistant Director for Campus Life manages the day to day operation of the Office of Campus Life and provides leadership and support to key student organizations including Bates College Student Government, Ronj Coffeehouse, Breaks at Bates, The Bates Student Newspaper, and Senior Week Co-Chairs. They also lead efforts related to senior week programming, the Campus Life Equity and Inclusion Peer Advisors, and student clubs, and oversees a variety of training and orientations that center student leadership development utilizing the Bates Leads framework, including building programs for civil discourse. The Assistant Director for Campus Life works closely and collaboratively with the Coordinator of Campus Life Programming and First-Year Experience to provide leadership and guidance for student club events and program, including event management when appropriate and as needed.
Campus Safety Officer	Lewiston, ME
This hands-on position provides direct support for an increasingly diverse Bates College community utilizing excellent customer service skills. Campus Safety Officers will engage and support students, guests and stakeholders from historically underrepresented groups including students of color, LGBTQAIP2+ students, international students, students with disabilities, first-generation college students, and the student organizations dedicated to supporting these students on campus. Additionally, Campus Safety Officers will develop strong partnerships with various campus offices and key stakeholders to ensure continued positive, long lasting relationships within the Bates Community. This position is considered “Essential Personnel” in the event that: An emergency occurs on the Bates Campus or in the vicinity that would impact Bates inclement weather forces the closing of campus other emergency events deemed appropriate. Essential Personnel are required to report to or remain at work if instructed to do so if contacted directly by the supervisor (or his/her designee), the President or a member of the President’s Staff (Sr. Leadership Team.)
