Assistant Men's and Women's Nordic Ski Coach Lewiston, ME
The Assistant Coach is responsible for aiding the Head Nordic Ski Coach in administering a competitive NCAA Division III intercollegiate program.  This position supports the development of student-athletes through mentorship, guidance, leadership opportunities, community building, and a commitment to social justice.  The Assistant Coach focuses primarily in the areas of planning and directing recruitment, training, conditioning and performance of student-athletes, along with fiscal management of the program. This is a professional assistant coaching position, and all of the duties of the position must be conducted in adherence with the policies, rules, and regulations of affiliated national, regional, and state intercollegiate athletic associations, the NCAA, the NESCAC Conference, and the College.  Assistant coaches work in partnership with the Office of Admission in order to recruit, admit, and enroll an academically and athletically talented and diverse class of students. The position will assist with various recruitment projects assigned according to previous experiences and program needs. The Assistant Coach will have significant night and weekend commitments. This position reports to the Head Coach.
Commons Associate - Sanitation (FT, FY) Lewiston, ME
The Commons  Associate - Sanitation position provides front line dishroom and janitorial support for the Bates dining program which serves approximately 5,000 meals per day to the students, faculty, staff, and guests of the college. Research Technician- Neuroscience Lewiston, ME
The Research Technician provides technical support for ongoing grant-funded research in the Neuroscience laboratory. This hands-on position provides direct support for research projects in the laboratory that relate to retinal ganglion cell development and regeneration. This position is responsible for the preparation of laboratory stocks and reagents, husbandry of a colony of transgenic mouse lines, and maintaining a record of all work in an accessible laboratory notebook. The position requires attention to detail and excellent record-keeping skills, as well as experience in or willingness to learn molecular biological laboratory techniques. The position is responsible for working with the laboratory head and with research and/or thesis students who are also employed by the laboratory, and for training new students in lab methods.
Director of Training Programs Lewiston, ME
This senior leadership position with the Bates Dance Festival (BDF) is one of two full-time year-round positions that directs BDF. The Director of Training Programs provides creative, strategic, organizational and financial oversight of the three BDF Training Programs as well as overseeing part-time and seasonal communications, operations, and administrative staff for all aspects of the Training Programs. Areas of particular emphasis include the selection and contracting of faculty members, recruitment of students, adjudicating student applications, communicating with applicants and their families, and creating and implementing administrative systems. Additional responsibilities include communicating and collaborating with the Festival Director to support faculty, staff, visiting artists, and student needs.
Director of Leadership Giving Lewiston, ME
The Director of Leadership Giving will manage a giving program that meets fundraising targets in support of the college’s short and long-term strategic priorities. The Director is responsible for this key individual giving program focused on relationship building with alumni, parents, and friends who have the capacity to make gifts at the level of $50,000 to $1,000,000. Annual goals for this program range from $3 million to $7 million in new cash and commitments/pledges. They will manage a team of five front-line officers, each of whom supports a portfolio of approximately 125 prospects. The Director will lead by example, managing a personal portfolio in addition to their management responsibilities. They will be responsible for setting metrics for leadership gift cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship, including number of contacts, visits, proposals, and commitments. The Director supervises front-line officers on a regular basis as they progress through their prospect work and towards established leadership giving goals based on strategic philanthropic initiatives. The Director works with LGOs to develop and implement strategic plans aimed at maximizing each individual’s support of the college by working with colleagues in College Advancement, faculty, Purposeful Work, Admission, The Office of Intercultural Education, the Office of the Vice President for Equity and Inclusion, and high-level volunteers in an effort to engage our entire donor base and provide transformative support to our students, faculty, and staff.

Assistant in Instruction- Mathematics Lewiston, ME
The Assistant in Instruction in Mathematics provides assistance with instruction and assessment to faculty teaching mathematics courses. This position is responsible for leading mathematics problem discussion sessions for Calculus I and Calculus II. This position assists with other classes as well, most commonly Introduction to Abstraction (MATH 221). This position also collaborates with the mathematics faculty to develop and assess meaningful hands-on student activity components to the mathematics curriculum. This position requires the ability to work successfully with math students at all levels of understanding and cognitive development using inclusive pedagogical techniques that facilitate student learning in a supportive atmosphere. The successful applicant will have the ability to meaningfully engage students who come from varied methodological backgrounds. Additionally, this position works individually and with mathematics faculty to develop projects to do during Bates’ Short Term, which typically begins in late April. Such projects may relate to math courses at Bates, assessment of learning objectives, or other departmental goals. Finally, this position will contribute to our departmental commitment to building a more equitable and inclusive mathematics program.
Assistant in Instruction- Organic Chemistry Lewiston, ME
The Assistant in Instruction in Chemistry and Biochemistry is primarily responsible for the Organic Chemistry Laboratory, including evidence based curriculum development, teaching laboratory sections, and supervising teaching assistants. The Assistant in Instruction will also assist in preparation of other 200- level laboratory spaces, including Analytical Chemistry and Inorganic Chemistry. In addition, this position will be responsible for maintaining the departmental 400-MHz NMR spectrometer.
Steward (Bates-Morse Mountain Conservation Area) Lewiston, ME
Stewards serve as on-site representatives of Bates College. Steward tasks include greeting and informing visitors, maintaining records, monitoring entrance and parking lot, walking trail and beach, checking for damage, rule violations, and communicating with the BMMCA Director. Stewards work full-time (40- hours per week) mid-May through mid-October. Stewards are expected to work weekends and holidays.
Campus Life Event Security (Internal Posting) Lewiston, ME

The Assistant in Instruction in Environmental Studies (ES) works closely with faculty in their courses as well as in field and indoor laboratories in environmental science. Executive Assistant to the President Lewiston, ME
