We have a great position for a Construction Manager to help shape this growth by using their knowledge and proactive attitude to lead and deliver projects, develop, review and implement processes & procedures while promoting a strong safety focus.
This position will work across industries such as mining, construction, oil and gas, and renewables. To succeed in this role, you will have the ability to:
- Strong safety focus and have a proven ability to implement safety strategies throughout the concept and delivery phases of the project
- Have proven ability to successfully communicate with clients to ensure that their desired outcome for the project is delivered
- Previous experience in working with clients to compile a project scope of works to then translate into project estimates and budgets
- Organise and coordinate construction activities in accordance with construction schedules to complete the works on time whilst constantly monitoring the status of planning, safety, environmental and quality activities.
- Ensure all activities relating to quality are performed in compliance with the requirements of the relevant specifications, codes, and standards, which form part of the contract.
- Maintain good client relationships and lead a multi-disciplinary team to meet defined project targets.
- Attend project, pre-construction, and tender meetings to review and plan for project success.
- Ability to assist with compiling and submitting formal tender proposals to stringent quality standards and to strict deadlines
- Experience in managing project claims and variations along with trade forecasting;
- Continuously monitor project performance, including financial forecasting, budgets, revenue, and gross profit margins.
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with both new and existing clients.
- Engage with local community and industry events to foster positive relationships and expand networks.
About You
- At least 5 years’ experience within construction projects
- Relevant Trade qualifications in Construction Management, Engineering or related field.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with all stakeholders including clients, suppliers and operational staff.
- High level business and commercial acumen.
- Strong negotiation and risk management skills.
- Proven track record of effectively managing budgets and ensuring cost control.
- Ability to travel domestically, ensuring presence at the construction site when needed.
- Have a high attention to detail, excellent time management and organisation skills;
- Outstanding leadership, communication and planning abilities with a passion for working in a face paced environment
