About the Role
Position: Digger Operator - Log Handling
Location: Napier Port
We are looking for skilled and experienced digger operators that have experience with log handling.
Status: Full Time - Salaried.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Your primary role will be a digger operator, responsible for loading logs onto ships. Operating with a grapple attachment.
- While your primary focus is digger operating, you’ll also receive training in other general stevedoring tasks. As part of our specialized team, you’ll handle various challenges that arise.
- Occasionally, you may travel with the team to work at other ports. Flexibility and readiness for travel are essential. Rest assured, we provide transport, accommodation, and a $100 living allowance for away assignments.
What we offer: You will be paid a fortnightly salary [minimum start salary is $2,872 per fortnight] with the ability to earn extra when working at a higher grade. This means your equivalent hourly rates range from $41 to $43.86 and given that your salary is a base salary, there is the potential to earn more than $80,000 per year.
Our digger operators are on a fixed roster and even though the operation is 24/7, you will be guaranteed two days off per week and provided a four day long weekend every six weeks. You can also choose to work any of your guaranteed days off and earn extra money.
Casual Positions
We also have casual positions available for skilled digger operators. Starting casual rate of $47.54 with the opportunity to move up to $52.29. No guarantee of work but the flexibility to pick and choose available shifts.
