THE ROLE

  • Assist with weekly cash flow forecasting activities for the Duratec Group.
  • Prepare monthly financial accounts, including review of balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Analyse accounts and investigate material variances from budget expenditure.
  • Consolidate and distribute various financial reports to the assigned business areas.
  • Prepare and post monthly journals including prepayments, provisions and accruals.
  • WIP file maintenance, including interpretation of financial data provisions.
  • Preparation and posting of monthly consolidation journals.
  • Review monthly overhead reports, consolidation journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support external audits, ensuring audit files and statutory accounts organised.
  • Analyse intercompany loans, reconciliations and records.
  • Update project budgets, ensuring costs are accurately recorded and allocated.
  • Generate and interpret detailed financial statements for management.
  • Provide guidance and technical advice to operational teams on financial matters.
  • Perform ad-hoc daily accounting tasks and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

ABOUT YOU

  • Minimum of 5 years in a similar role
  • Experience in a project-based construction environment
  • Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent
  • Bachelor of Business/Commerce - Accounting or equivalent (desirable)
  • Strong level of computer skills, with a particular focus on Excel
  • Familiarity with large ERP systems (Oracle JD Edwards experience advantageous)
  • Exceptional organisational, written and communication skills.
