Merchandise Planner

We are currently looking for an experienced Merchandise Planner to join our Planning team within our Menswear division.

Reporting to the Head of Planning, as a Merchandise Planner at Lowes, your role is vital to our future success by fusing the use of data and great customer knowledge to ensure we have the right stock in the right place at the right time, improving inventory efficiencies, and delivering overall strong commercial outcomes.

 

Some of the key responsibilities are (but not limited to):

  • Managing the merchandise financial plan to achieve sales and profit.
  • Liaise and communicate with Suppliers on weekly basis for ongoing and seasonal orders.
  • Drive strong collaboration with the buying department and wider team.
  • Maintain the Open-to-Buy (OTB) and inventory flow for maximum efficiency and customer focused outcomes.
  • Undertake key in-season and post-season analysis.
  • Trading your business to maximise every opportunity and minimise risks.

 

To be successful in this role,

You will be curious, driven to succeed, have demonstrated business acumen and exceptional commercial results; excel in forecasting, building, and executing strategic trading plans in collaboration with a buying team to exceed targets and deliver growth.

 

  • Demonstrated experience as a Merchandise Planner in a retail apparel environment for 3+ years.
  • Ability to observe, interpret and act upon trends in customer behaviour.
  • Highly inquisitive, self-driven with strong organisation skills.
  • Ability to develop accurate financial plans, assortment plans that are relevant to the customer and deliver financial outcomes.
  • Advanced computer skills including MS Excel.
  • Experience with Epicor, Maple Lake or Pronto would be an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to influence successful financial and strategic outcomes.
  • Be proactive with a high attention to detail, excellent problem-solving ability and analytical skills.
