Description: The Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies seeks a specialist in the Philosophy of Range and/or Gender. The Department also has needs for faculty with competence in non-Western Philosophy, Indigenous Philosophy, Philosophy of Disability, and /or Latinx Philosophy.
Responsibilities: Teaching lower-level, general education, and upper-level philosophy course. Duties include teaching and developing courses, maintaining an active research agenda, advising students, committee service, and other university requirements. Teaching Load: 4/4 load, with an initial teaching load of 3/3 for the first two years of probationary employment.
Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in philosophy is required by the start of the position.
Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated commitment to teaching undergraduates from diverse socioeconomics, cultural, and academic backgrounds, including first-generation students.

General Information: California State University, Bakersfield, founded in 1970, is one of twenty-three campuses of the CSU System and currently has an enrollment of over 9,000 students. The University services a socially and ethnically diverse population of 800,000 in an area of 10,000 square miles.
