ICAP at Columbia University, a global health leader situated within the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health in New York City, seeks Field Supervisors to be based in Kenya.
Advertising Summary: These positions are expected to be filled as soon as possible. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree/ Diploma in Public Health, Environmental Health, Social Sciences, Community Development, Climate Change, Development Studies, or a related field. Applicants should have a minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience in field-based research, including quantitative and/or qualitative data collection, intervention facilitation, and community engagement. Required technical experience includes the use of Qualtrics survey software, mobile data collection using tablets or smartphones, collection of GPS coordinates using Google Maps or Google Earth, and working knowledge of Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel. Certification in Protection of Human Subjects (CITI) is required or must be obtained independently prior to commencement of field activities.
The Field Supervisor role requires demonstrated experience in community sensitization and liaison, onboarding and supervision of community data collectors, delivery of in-person trainings, and routine data quality assurance and control (QA/QC). Successful candidates must demonstrate strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, the ability to manage multiple field activities simultaneously, and excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Swahili. A high level of professionalism, ethical conduct, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to work effectively with climate-vulnerable and marginalized communities are essential.
