ICAP at Columbia University, a global health leader situated within the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health in New York City, seeks qualified candidates to serve as Research Officer (RO) starting May 2026. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting research implementation activities within their portfolio. They will provide support day-day planning, coordination and supervision of research activities in line with the protocol, SOPs and GCP principles. Oversee and additionally conduct participant recruitment, screening, consenting and enrollment processes in line with inclusion and exclusion criteria. Ensure availability of all necessary study tools, supplies, and materials at study sites, including but not limited to: sample collection kits, tablets, logs and any other study materials as needed Oversee and conduct proper sample collection, labelling, packaging, storage, and transportation of study specimens in compliance with study protocols to ensure maintenance of specimen integrity and chain of custody documentation.Coordinate timely transport of samples to the laboratory and liaise with laboratory personnel for tracking and accountability. Responsible for tracking staff progress and performance, reviewing staff load, re-deploying staff as needed.Overall coordination of communication between staff, labs and supervisors. Ensure accurate and timely completion of all study records and reports as required.Report protocol deviations, adverse events, and participant concerns promptly to the local study coordination team. Conduct routine internal quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) checks on study processes and documentation Review study logs (screening, enrollment, transport logs) for completeness and accuracy to identify and resolve data discrepancies in a timely manner. Perform other duties as assigned The successful candidates will hold a nursing degree and be qualified in good clinical practice (GCP) with 2 or more years of experience in clinical research or other survey/surveillance activities involving human subjects. The candidate will also have experience with ethical requirements for research implementation and in conducting quality control and quality assurance procedures or study monitoring, with demonstrated knowledge and skills in this area.
