ICAP at Columbia University, a global health leader situated within the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health in New York City, seeks qualified candidates to serve as Research Assistant (RA) starting May 2026. The incumbent will be responsible for screening potential study participants for eligibility according to the approved study inclusion and exclusion criteria. Provide clear and accurate information about the study objectives, procedures, risks, and benefits.
Obtain written informed consent from eligible participants prior to any study procedures according to the study protocol, SOPs and GCP Enroll eligible and consented participants into the study in accordance with the study protocol. Administering sexual risk assessment questionnaire to participants in a professional, confidential, and culturally sensitive manner whilst ensuring accurate, complete, and timely recording of responses.Facilitate collection of high-quality urine sample from enrolled participants. Ensure proper labelling, packaging, storage, and chain-of-custody documentation of specimens. Coordinate safe and timely transportation of urine samples from health facilities to the clinical research site laboratory ensuring specimen integrity is maintained during handling and transportation. Liaise with laboratory personnel regarding receipt and tracking of samples and ensure proper labelling, packaging, transportation and storage, and chain-of-custody documentation Maintain accurate study logs, including screening logs, enrolment logs, and sample transport records. Report protocol deviations, participant concerns, and adverse events promptly to the local study coordination team Conduct Internal Quality Control and Quality Assurance activities and resolve data discrepancies whilst ensuring high-quality source documentation. Perform other duties as assigned. The successful candidates will hold a nursing degree and be qualified in good clinical practice (GCP) with 2 or more years of experience in clinical research or other survey/surveillance activities involving human subjects. The candidate will also have experience with ethical requirements for research implementation and in conducting quality control and quality assurance procedures or study monitoring, with demonstrated knowledge and skills in this area.
