ICAP at Columbia University, a global health leader situated within the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health in New York City, seeks qualified candidates to serve as Recruitment and Retention Officer (RRO)  starting May 2026. The incumbent will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of recruitment including, but not limited to, identifying candidate pools to recruit from; assisting in developing and reviewing community engagement work plan and recruitment material (as needed); reviewing potential participants to evaluate if they meet study requirements; coordinating recruiting initiatives; and attending community events for recruiting and promoting study recognition. Assist in all aspects of retention including, but not limited to, study team outreach; tracking scheduled study visits; and reminding participants about follow-up visits through phone calls, emails, texts, letters, and home visit. Maintain confidentiality of study participants and adhere to principles of Human Subject Protection (HSP) and Good Clinical Practice (GCP). Participate in routine Community Advisory Committee (CAC) meetings and present, as needed, on study progress to the CAC. Assist with community outreach, such as, contacting community organizations, promoting collaborative efforts among organizations/programs, and attending community meetings. Assist with designated aspects of study including ensuring site compliance with study protocols, all relevant procedures, policies and regulations. Understand and adhere to study protocols, and other appropriate regulations, procedures and policies. Monitor progress and yield of recruitment strategies, pivot as needed. Support data dissemination. Perform other related duties as assigned.

The successful candidates will hold Degree in social sciences/ Nursing degree or equivalent qualification and be qualified in good clinical practice (GCP) with 2 or more years of experience in clinical research or  research environment experience activities involving human subjects. The candidate will also have experience with ethical requirements for research implementation and in conducting quality control and quality assurance procedures or study monitoring, with demonstrated knowledge and skills in this area.
