Job Summary: | The purpose of the Public Archaeologist is to assist the NW Regional Center with the development and delivery of outreach programs, and the establishment of collaborative relationships between the Center and the public in northwest FL. (including local governments, students, volunteers, and civic organizations) |

Minimum Qualifications: | Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Four years of direct experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. |
Position Qualifications: | Knowledge of the archaeological and historical resources in northwest Florida; knowledge and/or experience with public interpretation of cultural resources; advanced skill in interpersonal communication, public speaking, and working with volunteers. |
Preferred Qualifications | Master's degree in archaeology or related discipline; knowledge of Florida archaeology, history, Cultural Resource Management, and best preservation practices; familiarity with social media platforms and content creation. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Courteous manner in dealing with the public; Fluency in Spanish or other foreign language; Registered Professional Archaeologist. |
