About the role

The Mater Hospital Brisbane has an opportunity available for an experienced Senior Administration Officer to join their Telehealth team. This role is permanent full time.

Salary range: $36.51 - $40.81 (MCA3) per hour plus superannuation

What you’ll be doing 

  • Receiving, reviewing and processing new telehealth appointments
  • Liaise with local GPs, QLD HHS, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Centres to schedule telehealth appointments with clinical support.
  • Monitor daily telehealth appointments across Ambulatory and Outpatient specialties and virtually arrive patients to their telehealth appointments via the Outpatient Appointment Journey Board.
  • Be able to identify the different types of available telehealth technology or the ability to rapidly acquire technical information relating to telehealth
  • Must be able to use video conferencing software and hardware or the ability rapidly acquire the skills to make video calls
  • Be able to apply basic trouble shooting techniques to ensure telehealth appointments aren't delayed
  • Have an excellent phone and customer service manner and understanding of medical terminology is preferred
  • Monitor outlook calendar for the outpatients telehealth inbox
  • Receiving, reviewing, and processing internal booking requests for consult spaces in the telehealth hub for clinicians.
  • Process e-appointment slips for finalising appointments with outcomes.

About you

You will have previous experience in a medical administration role within a hospital/healthcare environment and advanced computer skills including competence in using multiple Patient Administration systems (or the ability to quickly learn these systems). You will also have excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to organise and prioritise work effectively within a busy, demanding, fast-paced environment.

You will also have the below skills:

  • Highly accurate data entry skills
  • Experience in providing technical support
  • Experience with Telehealth (desirable)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with patient information
  • Ability to work both independently and cooperatively as a team member
  • A demonstrated commitment to the Mater Mission and values
