Mater’s Digital Technology and Information team is accepting internal expressions of interest for a leader to step up as our new Senior Manager – Development Integration and Automation in an initial 3-month period based at Mater Newstead.  

This role will be responsible for providing service leadership across Mater’s digital solutions and automation portfolio. You will be key in driving and enabling digitisation and automation across the organisation. 

Salary: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing 

This acting opportunity will see you support the team through a significant amount of change over the next 3 months. Due to this, you may not oversea the full scope of the Senior Manager position, you will however, support the delivery to digital transformational activities by.

  • Process re-design, process improvement and digital transformation advisory services 
  • Design and implement automation and digital solutions
  • Establish and mentor “citizen developers” through a network of champions with the intent to increase digital capability and literacy across all areas of the organisation 
  • Mentor and guide technical leads and the broader teams  
  • Establish and embed effective ways of working, product and service management models and agile delivery practices 
  • Ensure Performance and Development Plans are in place across the portfolio and ensure direct reports have clear accountabilities and priorities associated with their roles  
  • Develop succession plans in order to provide professional development for the team and address the risks associated with the retention of skills and talent 
  • Review the operating model and identify opportunities to drive collaboration, efficient service delivery, software development practices and input into product management across DTI and Mater
  • With existing vendors including financial and contract negotiation in collaboration with Mater’s procurement team 
  • Hold strategic relationships with government, industry, higher education, research, professional bodies and non-government agencies to inform and enhance services

About you 

We are searching for a Mater leader who is/has: 

  • Tertiary Qualifications in IT or Health related field  
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in a digital heath field 
  • Experience managing the delivery of digital solutions in a complex healthcare environment and with diverse teams  
  • Experience in delivering value in a healthcare setting through Microsoft Products (Microsoft 365, Azure Cloud, Power Platform) and Robotic Process Automation tools 
  • Excellent verbal, presentation, written and interpersonal communication skills 
  • Ability to adapt and lead in a complex and changing environment  
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing Agile methodologies and procedures 
  • Team player, with an ability to work individually or under larger projects with team members of diverse backgrounds 
  • Naturally curious about, and fluent in, external or internal customer processes and problems, and is obsessed with solving those problems effectively
