About the role

Mater Hospital Brisbane has an exciting opportunity for Enrolled Nurse to join the Ambulatory and Outpatients Service (AOPS) in a maximum term, part time role working 72 hours per fortnight (36 hours per week) until January 2025.

The Ambulatory & Outpatient Service offers exceptional individualised care and is committed to enhancing the patient experience by providing clinical care, education, information and support that is evidence based.

This role will work within the medical & surgical specialist clinics, working Monday to Friday shifts.

This role is responsible for coordinating patient flow, assisting with minor procedures, undertaking clinical interventions such as dressings, wound care, observations & education within these Specialist Clinics at Mater Hospital Brisbane. This role is patient centred, uses clinical problem solving, adopts effective communication and time management, manages up to date clinical documentation and contributes to multidisciplinary teamwork.

Salary range: $34.84 - $37.10 (Enrolled Nurse) per hour plus superannuation and Salary packaging access up to $15,900

What you’ll be doing

The Enrolled Nurse (EN) performs all aspects of Nursing care including patient advocacy with particular consideration to the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of each patient in a safe, efficient and patient focused manner contributing to optimal patient outcomes.  

Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Delivery of safe, quality nursing care under both direct and indirect supervision of nursing, podiatry and medical teams
  • Provision of wound care & complex dressings
  • Implementation of Infection Control protocols
  • Effective identification, escalation and management of risk
  • Participation in regular professional development and team meetings
  • Managing relationships and liaising effectively with other members of the multidisciplinary team in the delivery of optimal health care
  • Contribution to planning and evaluation processes within the service
  • Maintenance of appropriate levels of supplies

About you

Suitable applicants must have:

  • Current AHPRA Enrolled Nurse registration (no restrictions)
  • Acute clinical & wound care experience highly regarded
  • Advanced communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • An ability and commitment to work within a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Highly developed organisational skills and excellent time management
  • Sound computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word
  • An ability to work under minimal supervision
