About the role
Mater’s Finance team are seeking two Finance Business Partners to join the team, in this permanent, full-time opportunity based at our corporate office in Newstead.
Reporting to the Senior Finance Business Partner – Corporate, Investments and Subsidiaries this role will see you supporting a corporate portfolio. This opportunity is for those looking to leverage their existing business partnering expertise, bringing knowledge and experience into a high functioning, multi skilled team and to join a market leader in healthcare.
Salary range: $121,359 - $129,997 (MCA 6) per annum plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
The Finance Business Partner (FBP) will serve as a strategic liaison between the finance function and operational leadership groups, providing expert financial support and guidance to enhance organisational performance and long-term financial sustainability.
- Collaborate with divisional and cost centre management on performance reporting, budgeting, forecasting and funding assessments
- Proactively engage with stakeholders to identify financial management issues and improvement opportunities
- Prepare accurate and insightful monthly divisional performance reports
- Participate in performance review meetings with divisional and cost centre management
- Support ledger integrity and month-end/year-end closing processes
- Coordinate divisional budget cycle tasks and prepare full year forecasts
- Maintain oversight of divisional funding arrangements and resource allocation planning
- Review contractual agreements and grant proposals for financial implications and compliance
- Support capital investment planning and reporting
- Identify and communicate financial risks, opportunities, and requirements related to contracts and grants
- Collaborate with procurement, project managers and program coordinators for favourable terms and conditions
- Drive continuous improvement through system and process enhancements
- Lead change management initiatives to optimise financial processes
About you
To be successful in this role you will have tertiary and/or postgraduate qualifications in Accounting, Commerce, and/or Business along with:
- Proven ability to contribute to strategic decision making and improve financial outcomes
- Strong presentation and report writing skills
- Excellent time management, prioritisation and organisation skills
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with stakeholders, aligned with corporate values
- Demonstrates problem-solving skills and meets deadlines with proactive solutions
- Excellent communication, negotiation, consultation, and change management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with ERP systems like Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Familiarity with reporting tools such as TM1 and PowerBI for data-driven decision making
- Experience in business partnering in a large organisation
- Membership in a recognised Australian accounting body (CA/CPA) preferred, not required
