About the role

Mater’s Digital Technology and Information team has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Digital Infrastructure Specialist to join us in a 20-month contract, starting in November 2024. Reporting to the Resource Manager and located at our corporate office in Newstead, this position will focus on the design, deployment, and management of virtual servers.

Salary range: $114,746 - $122,915 (MCA 6) p/a plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead the professional, timely and effective infrastructure support services including the identification and resolution of complex DTI troubleshooting activities
  • Independently lead small to medium projects 
  • Determine and prioritise configuration changes/updates
  • Liaise with Applications and other teams to ensure the smooth operation of IT Infrastructure services
  • Manage user acceptance testing routines and develops infrastructure requirements for test conditions
  • Actively participate in the resource management process
  • Troubleshoot complex business processes and system issues
  • Lead the creation and review of IT infrastructure management documentation and processes
  • Develop and design specialised technical infrastructure solutions within area of speciality
  • Contribute to the maintenance of the technology Enterprise Architecture and Target Technical Architecture (TTA)
  • Provide advice to other IT teams, projects and IT leadership regarding technology, implementation approaches, resourcing and operational requirements
  • Participate in project planning, design, and architecture of new systems and technologies
  • Undertakes research and provides expert advice and recommendations on the technology environment
  • Provide subject matter expertise within a body of knowledge or specialty, applying highly developed analytical skills
  • Assist in the development and delivery of training programs for team members
  • Issue management within defined SLA’s

About you

  • A tertiary degree in the area of subject matter expertise or Information Technology is highly desirable
  • Education or training in information technology and industry certifications are highly desirable
  • ITIL Foundation is desirable. Technical Competencies
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in critical IT support and delivery environments
  • Extensive experience in VMWare Technologies including, VMware vSphere, vCenter, VMware vSAN, VMware NSX
  • Proven experience in the project delivery and BAU management around Windows Servers and virtualisation in a large organisation
  • Ability to support and promote a client focused customer service delivery culture
  • Ability to demonstrate experience in IT systems implementation or project coordination
  • Demonstrated high-level of interpersonal and both written and oral communications
  • Demonstrated ability to manage diverse activities and priorities
  • Ability to function individually and compatibly with team members
  • Ability to lead and mentor less senior staff and share knowledge, experience and expertise
  • Effectively manages multiple and changing priorities with sometimes conflicting deadlines
