About the role

The Mater Private Hospital Redland Administration team has an opportunity available for an experienced Administration Officer within the Patient Services team. The successful applicant will be offered Permanent Full Time Employment, where you will work a 38 hour week. We are looking for someone who is flexible with their working hours and is available for all shift times with minimal restrictions. Shift times range from 6:00am through to 8:00pm Monday - Friday, with occasional weekend work.

Salary Range: $36.52 - $ 40.81 (MCA3) per hour plus Superannuation & Salary Packaging up to $15,900.

What you’ll be doing

As an Administration Officer your role will involve but not limited to:

  • Providing Exceptional Customer Service to patients, Visiting Medical Officers, and clients. This may include work in our sessional rooms supporting our VMO’s.
  • Processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges and the preparation of clinical forms including the preparation of health fund checks and financial consent.
  • Providing administrative support to clinical staff across the Mater Cancer Care Centre, Day Procedure Unit, Operating Theatres, and Inpatient Wards.
  • Maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality, complying with administration, and financial policies and procedures, maintaining accurate, current, and accessible files, including maintenance of records of relevant meetings and discussions.
  • Provide administrative assistance to other senior staff and others as requested.
  • Exercise judgement where necessary to solve immediate problems in situations where precedents have not been set and procedures not defined.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Highly experienced in providing medical administration support
  • Highly developed time management and organisational skills
  • Strong computer skills including competence in using Patient Administration systems (or the ability to quickly learn new systems)
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and ability to work under the direction of others in a multidisciplinary team environment. 
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work effectively within a busy, fast-paced and demanding environment.
