About the role

Mater Patient Accommodation is currently seeking a Motel Assistant to join our team as a cleaner on a casual basis. As a cleaner in this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for our patients and guests. 

This role is crucial in creating a positive experience for patients and ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities.  Your attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness will directly contribute to the well-being of the patients we provide accommodation for. 

Salary range: $30.48 - $33.05 per hour plus 23% casual loading and 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

• Maintain a clean and hygienic environment throughout Patient Accommodation facilities
• Thoroughly clean and sanitize patient rooms to ensure a comfortable and safe space for all tenants
• Attend to the needs of patients by servicing their rooms, including bed making and general cleaning
• Efficiently distribute clean linens to designated linen cupboards, ensuring an adequate supply is always available
• Assist the Manager in monitoring stock levels, helping to identify needs for ordering supplies, and ensuring that inventory is well-organised
• Manage laundry duties, including washing, drying, folding, and distributing of all in-house linen
• Ensure proper disposal of waste by regularly removing rubbish from patient rooms and common areas, adhering to Patient Accommodation cleaning standards
• Record and report maintenance issues to ensure prompt resolution
• Regularly clean and maintain common areas to provide a welcoming and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff
• Collaborate with the management team to enhance operational efficiency and assist with any other related tasks as needed

About you

• Previous experience in a similar cleaning role
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures and practices, including proper handling and use of cleaning chemicals and equipment
• Attention to detail, ensuring thorough cleaning and sanitization of all areas
• Ability to work independently and efficiently, managing time effectively to complete tasks within designated timelines
• Strong communication skills, enabling you to interact professionally and courteously with patients, guests, and team members
• Flexibility to work on a casual basis, housekeeping hours are 8am - 2.30pm Monday - Friday and some weekends to accommodate the needs of our facility
