About the role
Mater Hospital Brisbane is recruiting for an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic Gynae-Oncology Clinical Nurse to join the Ambulatory and Outpatient Department on a fixed term part-time basis, working 32 hrs per week to cover leave for the period 1st January- 26th April 2025.
As a Gynae-Oncology Clinical Nurse, you will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team alongside our Gynae-Oncology CNC. The role will provide coordination support to the Gynae-Oncology team and their patients, including coordination of the Gynae-Oncology outpatient clinic, theatre scheduling, MDT meetings and improvements within the department.

Salary range: $54.21 - $58.08 (Registered Nurse Level 2) per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
As a valued member of the team your responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
- Providing specialty specific support and resources to patients & staff
- Clinic coordination to the Gynae-Oncology clinics
- Liaising with the Multidisciplinary Team/s between various specialties & sub-specialties to ensure consistent patient outcomes
- Liaising with the multidisciplinary team and escalating patient concerns when required
- Timely surgical scheduling, support and coordination of multidisciplinary team meetings and patient discussion and planning
- Actively participating in Outpatient and Ambulatory Department Nursing Portfolios – Specialty specific and CSQU Audit Schedule
- Collaboration with other health professionals to provide safe patient care and appropriate referrals as identified
- Establish priorities for resolution of identified health needs in consultation with the patient or group of patients
About you
The successful candidate will have:
- Current AHPRA registration
- Advanced clinical competency and the ability to maintain the highest standards of nursing practice
- Previous 2+ years gynaecology, surgical or oncology nursing experience
- Previous theatre scheduling experience advantageous
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other members of the multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of optimal patient outcomes
- Effective communication and clinical problem-solving skills to maximise patient care
- A commitment to the continuous improvement of health care and nursing practice
- Demonstrated commitment to professional practice through continuing professional development
- Ability to contribute to departmental research activities
