About the role
Mater Mothers’ Hospitals, together with Mater Hospital South Brisbane Physiotherapy Team is currently seeking an experienced Administration/Physiotherapy Assistant to join their team on a permanent, part-time basis working 24 hours per week.
The Physiotherapy department at Mater Health provides a broad range of public and private health services with adults, women’s health, neonatology, children and adolescent services. This combined Administration and Assistant role consists of approximately 80% administrative and non-clinical responsibilities and 20% clinical work, with a primary focus on supporting the Mater Mothers and Pelvic Health team.
Operational Employees Level 3 Salary range: $34.02 - $35.66 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Administrative & Non-Clinical Duties
- Utilize various software programs to extract, input, and manage data.
- Handle phone and email correspondence with patients.
- Manage stock orders, including clinical equipment, supplies, and consumables.
- Oversee daily timetables and group class schedules.
- Coordinate with administrative teams across multiple departments.
- Ensure the cleaning, restocking, and maintenance of physiotherapy equipment.
- Set up and pack down equipment for group classes.
- Maintain clinical resources and patient education materials.
Clinical Duties
- Facilitate Telehealth group education classes.
- Distribute educational materials to patients on the wards.
- Manage patient caseloads, conducting assessments and treatments as delegated.
- Document session outcomes, track changes in patient status, and provide feedback to the supervising practitioner.
- Assist with patient care, including therapy programs and education.
- Prepare and maintain therapy rooms, equipment, resources, and assistive devices.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical services and patient outcomes.
- Engage in ongoing training and professional development to refine clinical skills and knowledge.
About you
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with professionals, patients and carers
- Proficient in computer and digital literacy
- Excellent organization, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role and ability to work autonomously
- Certificate IV or Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance preferred
