About the role

Mater has an exciting opportunity for a Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team at the Queensland Diabetes & Endocrine Centre (QDEC). We are searching for an experienced, highly motivated & passionate Psychologist for a maximum term part-time role, 18 hours per week from June 2025 - April 2026.

You will deliver a quality psychology service to the QDEC client population, as part of a multi-disciplinary team. QDEC provides highly specialised ambulatory clinical services for adults experiencing complex psycho-social stressors associated with living with type 1 & type 2 Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolic conditions.

Salary range: $64.64 - $69.55 (HP4) per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

Key duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering psychological clinical services including assessment, formulation, diagnosis and treatment according to clinical need and in keeping with prescribed professional and ethical standards.
  • Providing input into the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols.
  • Actively participating in the multidisciplinary team, working co-operatively and effectively with colleagues, clients, their families and external agencies.
  • Developing clinical practice knowledge and expertise through active learning and engaging in professional development activities.
  • Independently managing a clinical workload of new and existing clients.
  • Participating in the identification, development and implementation of quality improvement activities that enhance the delivery of psychology services at Mater. 

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A minimum of two (2) years clinical experience in psychology
  • An approved tertiary qualification in psychology and registration as a general, health or clinical psychologist with AHPRA
  • The ability to work autonomously and within a high performing team
  • Experience in provision of Psychology services, ideally in a hospital and health setting
  • Demonstrated clinical practice and application of clinical judgement in the provision of high quality, evidence based, patient centred care
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal) and demonstrated ability to work co-operatively with profession and multi-disciplinary teams, patients and carers to optimise outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly acquire skills to identify, develop and participate in quality and service improvement activities that improve clinical services and patient outcomes

Highly Desirable Qualifications

  • Postgraduate qualifications in Clinical or Health Psychology
  • Working towards or attained PsyBA approved supervisor
  • Working towards or attained PsyBA area of practice endorsement in Clinical or Health Psychology
