Mater Private Hospital Brisbane is looking for a Director of Clinical Services to join our team. Reporting to the General Manager, this permeant, part-time role is based at our South Brisbane campus.
Salary: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
The Director of Clinical Services is responsible for meeting the strategic and operational accountabilities for the service, ensuring that safe, high quality patient centred care is delivered, and a culture is promoted that is in keeping with the health care mission and values of the Sisters of Mercy.
The role is accountable for the implementation of governance and policy related to clinical practice and advocates for and enables the integration of education and research. You will achieve this by:
- Ensuring strong clinical governance by developing and implementing clinical policy standards.
- Supporting compliance with and management of clinical standards and variations in practice.
- Leveraging clinical service delivery for education, research, and improved patient outcomes.
- Using reliable clinical data to prioritise evidence-based improvements in clinical care.
- Promoting the translation of research and evidence into practice.
- Engaging stakeholders to develop an integrated health and wellness strategy.
- Cultivating an innovative culture to lead the community toward a healthy future.
- Strengthening affiliations with community, university, and government entities.
- Evaluating site function and develops a contemporary Master Plan.
- Identifies opportunities for financial improvement and efficient management
About you
You will have tertiary qualifications in health management, business or related disciplines with demonstrated experience working effectively with both health and non-health related sectors to achieve shared outcomes. You will also meet the below criteria:
- Demonstrated ability to foster a culture that encompasses and encourages excellence, innovation, and financial responsibility and productivity improvements.
- The ability to motivate employees and to work collaboratively with senior stakeholders across professional disciplines and across industries to develop and deliver shared objectives.
- High level interpersonal communication skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills to assist the achievement of positive relationships with staff, unions, external agencies, professional bodies and representatives of stakeholder organisations relevant to the Mater Private Hospital Brisbane and broader health agenda.
- The ability to effectively deal with complexity and ambiguity. Requires the ability to analyse data, seek and draw linkages between key sources of information, and show initiative in developing innovative solutions.
- An ability to develop, articulate and lead toward a vision whilst synergising stakeholder perspectives to enable the vision to evolve and achieve maximum traction and take-up.
- A demonstrated history of effective and astute business management.
- Ability to extrapolate the opportunity that a new site offers and to lead staff in an environment of continual change so that people understand and embrace change, retaining the ability to be visionary in the face of change and to adjust own behaviour to facilitate the change.
- An ability to understand the key business drivers within Mater, the health industry and the environment in which the Mater Private Hospital Brisbane and related current & future health services will operate.
- Ability to input into and support strategic direction is politically astute and engages in information seeking/networking and exploration of external benchmarks.
