Mater is looking for an experience Financial Analyst to join our team. This permanent, full-time role is based at our Newstead campus. 

Join our Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) Team, responsible for developing, implementing, and delivering enterprise budgets, quarterly forecasting, and monthly executive and board reporting. As a Financial Analyst, you will support financial planning, analysis, and performance reporting to drive optimal financial and commercial performance and value creation. This role provides critical support to senior leadership through insightful and value-adding information, planning, and reporting.

Salary range: $105,567 - $114,860 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits!  

What you’ll be doing 

  • Support the production of monthly Executive and Board Reporting.
  • Analyse financial data and create financial models for decision support and planning.
  • Report on financial performance and prepare insightful presentations.
  • Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analysing actual results with plans and forecasts.
  • Conduct scenario planning and modelling to test alternate outlook projections.
  • Develop and implement financial models to support business and investment decisions.
  • Support the production of monthly, quarterly, and annual Executive and Board Reporting.
  • Undertake Group level analysis of variances and deep dive analysis of operational performance areas.
  • Develop Power BI and TM1 reports for corporate purposes and the business.
  • Prepare and analyse workforce data/reporting on a timely basis.
  • Track and monitor key workforce planning metrics.
  • Partner with stakeholders to provide timely, practical, and pragmatic advice on financial-related matters.
  • Develop and strengthen relationships between finance and operational divisions.
  • Promote the Enterprise Performance Management through positive working relationships with diverse groups of service partners and the wider community. 

About you 

You will have relevant tertiary and/or postgraduate qualifications in accountancy, economics, commerce, finance, or a related discipline and professional standing for current membership or eligibility for membership of a recognised Australian accounting body (CPA or CA). You will also meet the below criteria:

  • Experience in corporate reporting & analysis and financial planning.
  • Proficiency in Power BI and/or TM1 Report development.
  • Health-specific or complex sector background.
  • Proven ability to produce quality, reliable financial reporting and analysis.
  • High level of written communication skills with the ability to provide insights to a broad spectrum of stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced modeling skills.
  • Excellent time management, prioritisation, and organisation skills.
  • High level of proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience leveraging ERP (preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365).
  • Proven ability to use reporting tools such as TM1 and PowerBI to draw insights and drive decisions.
