About the role
Mater Research are looking for a Finance and Trial Administration Officer in the Medical Oncology clinical trial team. This Maximum-term, part time role will be based at our South Brisbane campus for a six-month contract.

Salary range: $36.10 - $40.43 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
The role of Finance and Trial Administration Officer is crucial to ensuring the seamless financial and administrative operations of a clinical trial unit. In this position, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day, monthly and yearly financial management of the Medical Oncology clinical trial team. Your responsibilities will encompass invoicing, budget management, accounts receivable, financial systems oversight, and tool management, as well as handling various ad-hoc financial and administrative tasks. Your contributions will help maintain financial integrity, compliance, and efficiency, supporting the successful execution of clinical trials.
Your duties will include (but is not limited to):
- Coordinate and process invoices related to clinical trial activities, ensuring compliance with contracts and service agreements.
- Liaise with vendors and suppliers for timely submission and resolution of payment queries.
- Ensure timely payment of vendor and site invoices and manage any discrepancies or disputes.
- Develop, monitor, and maintain the clinical trial budget, ensuring all costs are tracked and appropriately allocated.
- Ensure all financial activities comply with the approved budget and any modifications are well documented.
- Maintain invoice & revenue register.
- Receivables reconciliation
- Start-up activity support including regulatory submission essential document preparation.
- Post approval HREC & RGO submissions support.
- Set up and maintenance of essential documents and investigator site files (ISF)
- Data collection consistent with delegation, research protocols and level of experience
- Data entry and ensuring that source data is available for source data verification.
- Act as an administrative point of contact for trials and liaising with key stake holders.
- Liaising with external stakeholders to facilitate monitoring activities and follow up items.
- Liaising with external departments to facilitate research activities as required
About you
Knowledge and Skills
- Awareness of the Australian Clinical trial regulatory framework and applicable guidelines such as ICH GCP as adopted by the TGA and NHRMC guidelines for clinical trials.
Qualifications and Experience (essential)
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
- Certificate IV, degree or advanced diploma qualification
- Experience in an accounts payable/receivable role
Desirable
- Previous finance experience in a research environment
