About the role

Mater’s Finance department has an exciting opportunity for a Project Support Officer to join the team in a full-time max term 18-month contract based at our Newstead offices.

The Project Support Officer will play a vital part in ensuring the successful implementation of Finance Department transformation initiatives, including technology and process changes. Working as a collaborative member of the Finance transformation team, this role will contribute to project coordination as directed by the Project Managers. They will also closely collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer's Executive Support Officer (ESO).

Salary range: $45.81 - $50.46 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing

Reporting directly to the Project Managers of the Reclaim the Future Project and Make Mater Match Fit Project. Your key duties will include but will not be limited to:

  • Support Project Managers in the planning, design, development, and implementation of finance projects
  • Provide advice and assist with decision-making through analysis, reporting, and project documentation
  • Coordinate meetings, communications, and deliverables to ensure timely and efficient project delivery
  • Prepare and manage purchase orders, invoices, and contract documentation for approval
  • Monitor project status and financials, including cost tracking and governance reporting
  • Identify and escalate risks, issues, and delays, ensuring appropriate mitigation strategies are in place
  • Maintain accurate project records and ensure compliance with project management frameworks
  • Liaise with stakeholders to minimise disruptions and keep teams informed on scope, timelines, and budgets

About you

The successful applicant will be an expert in Microsoft Office and have the following demonstrated experience:

  • Experience supporting or coordinating projects or change programs
  • Experience with project management methodologies or working within project teams, highly desirable
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Familiarity with Microsoft DevOps software is advantageous
