About the role
Mater has an exciting opportunity for a Building Maintenance Coordinator to join the team in a permanent, full-time basis. The successful applicant will manage, coordinate and oversee building maintenance works across Mater facilities. This role is responsible for work related to building infrastructure including the inspection, repair and oversight of building maintenance works.
Salary range: $ 50.23 - $ 52.26 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
- Manage building maintenance works to maintain Mater building facilities to required standards through established contracts
- Manage, coordinate and oversee the appropriate management and resolution of building issues relating to hazardous materials such as mould, asbestos and lead paint
- Coordinate multiple building maintenance works and contractors at any one time
- Coordinate appropriate support works for building maintenance such as road closures, building or service interruptions
- Work under the direction of Building and Assurance Manager in collaboration with the relevant trade managers.
- Maintain building, properties, hospital environments, office environments, clinics and workshops
- Ensure all works, repairs and maintenance are conducted in a sustainable, timely and quality manner
- Assist with arranging contractors, materials and plant as required for the efficient execution of the building and works programs
- Participate in the on-call roster as required.
About you
Essential qualifications
- Trade experience within a maintenance environment or extensive work experience in facility management.
- Hold a full and valid QLD driver’s licence
Technical qualifications
- Experience in planning and coordinating building jobs
- Excellent communication skills including working with contractors and report writing
- Well-developed time management and organisation skills
- Technical skills to interpret building plans and technical documentation, assess for compliance with the Building Code of Australia and all relevant legislation, regulations, codes and policies and ensure that construction and maintenance are in accordance with these requirements
- Developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to exercise good judgement and initiative when required
- Ability to use personal computer applications and in particular the Microsoft Office suite of products
- Ability to establish effective working relationships and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
