About the role

Mater Health Brisbane has an exciting opportunity for an Administration Officer to join the Mater Mothers team in a casual capacity.  The focus areas for this role will be Pregnancy Assessment Centre, Admissions and Antenatal Clinic. 

Shifts will be offered both in advance and on an ad hoc basis to cover planned and unplanned leave, as well as roster deficits, across a 7-day schedule. Shifts will be available in the morning, afternoon, and overnight.

Salary range: $31.24 - $36.44 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

This position is an Administration Officer across a variety of Inpatient and Outpatient areas. 

As an Administration Officer at Mater Mothers, your role will involve but is not limited to:

  • Providing Exceptional Customer Service to patient and clients
  • Providing administrative support to clinical and medical staff
  • Admissions, transfers and discharges
  • Appointment scheduling and management
  • Maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality, complying with administration, and financial policy and procedures, maintaining accurate, current and accessible files, including maintenance of records of relevant meetings and discussions

About you

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the ability to meet the following:

  • Dynamic, flexible and willing to learn.
  • Available for shifts both in advance and at short notice.
  • Open to working evenings and nights as well as business hours.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge on procedures and policies of the work area/s
  • Highly developed time management and organisational skills
  • Strong computer skills including competence in using Patient Administration systems (and the ability to quickly learn new systems)
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ensure effective, accurate and timely communication with staff and clients, communicating with professionalism, sensitivity, and discretion
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work effectively within a busy, fast-paced, demanding environment
  • Ability to adapt to different work environments daily,
  • Ensure accurate data entry using appropriate electronic systems
  • Support and assist other administration and clinical team members within the business as required
  • Advanced IT skills in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • A positive attitude and approach to work with a commitment to excellent service and accuracy
  • Maintain a safe working environment complying with Workplace Health and Safety and anti-discrimination policies
  • Comply with and adhere to Mater Health Services and the private practice policies, procedures, standards and legislation relevant to the role and business unit
