Mater Pharmacy Springfield have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated, professional Pharmacist to join our Clinical Services team, in a part time position working 8am to 12noon Monday to Friday, for a maximum term of 9 months (with possibility of extension to be discussed in future).
About the role
Mater Pharmacy Springfield provides an on-site service to our current inpatient wards, theatres and day unit as well as Mater Cancer Care Centre for day oncology.

Salary range: $43.68 – $58.59 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
This will be a rotational position working across the pharmacy dispensary as well as inpatient wards of our existing Springfield Private Hospital campus. You will work closely with hospital staff and patients to deliver a consistently high level of clinical pharmacy service by providing customers, patients, carers and other health professionals with support and information relating to medication and medication safety practices.
This includes but is not limited to:
- Compiling and documenting best possible medication history for hospital inpatients
- Reconciliation and clinical review of prescribed medications
- Managing supply of inpatient and discharge medications for hospital patients and some outpatients
- Preparation of discharge medication and discharge medication information
- Checking prepared medications prior to delivery to wards and patients
- Medication education and counselling for patients and their carers
- Working withing a team of pharmacists, technicians and students providing supervision and assistance as required and contributing to improvement activities
- Liaison with external facilities and community health care providers to ensure continuity of care for individual patients
- Providing medication related information, advice and support to the multidisciplinary team.
You will be working within a small team at Mater Pharmacy Springfield which is supported by the whole Mater Pharmacy Department for Mater Health Services, South East Queensland covering all the Springfield, South Brisbane and Redland campuses.
The Springfield Pharmacy provides a 7 day per week on-site service with support from our Central Pharmacy after hours so there will also be the opportunity to take up a share of the weekend shifts as rostered.
About you
To be considered for this role you must have:
- Bachelor of Pharmacy
- APHRA registration to practice as a pharmacist (without restrictions)
Other highly regarded attributes include:
- Prior demonstrated experience in ward-based clinical pharmacy
- The ability to work some additional weekend shifts from time to time
