About the role
Mater Mothers is seeking a Finance Business Partner in this permanent, full-time opportunity based at South Brisbane.
The Finance Business Partner will serve as a strategic liaison between the finance function and operational leadership groups. Your main responsibility will be to provide expert financial support and guidance to improve the organisation's performance and long-term financial sustainability.
Salary range: $121,359 - $129,997 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Working closely with Facility and cost centre management, you will ensure effective budget management, forecasting, performance reporting, and funding assessments. By leveraging your financial expertise, you will drive positive financial, operational, and clinical outcomes.
- Collaborate with divisional and cost centre management to provide financial expertise and guidance on performance reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and funding assessments
- Engage proactively with stakeholders to identify financial management issues and opportunities for improvement, contributing to enhanced financial, operational, and clinical outcomes
- Prepare accurate and insightful divisional performance reports on a monthly basis, facilitating effective decision-making
- Participate actively in performance review meetings, providing valuable insights and recommendations for financial improvement
- Support ledger integrity and month-end and year-end closing processes
- Coordinate divisional budget cycle tasks and prepare regular full-year forecasts
- Maintain oversight of divisional funding arrangements, ensuring alignment with budgetary targets and available resources
- Support the review of contractual agreements and grant proposals, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives, policies, and regulations
- Proactively identify system and process improvements, leading change management initiatives to optimise financial processes
About you
To be successful in this role you will have tertiary and/or postgraduate qualifications in Accounting, Commerce, and/or Business along with:
- Associated relevant professional registration (CPA or CA qualified) (desirable)
- Experience in management accounting within a large healthcare or complex service organisation (desirable)
- Effective coordination and leadership of management accounting services within a large public health organisation
- Development, leadership and mentorship of high-performing teams in line with contemporary HR practices
- Excellent communication, negotiation, consultation and change management skills
- Ability to provide effective advice and recommendations on financial matters
- Strategic thinking, analytical skills and innovation in complex service planning and clinical activity management
