Mater Foundation are looking for a Marketing Communications Specialist to join the team! This maximum-term (mid July 2026– mid May 2026), full-time role will be based at our Newstead campus.  The Marketing Communications Specialist leads in campaign management, production, and execution of above the line & direct mail campaigns to support Mater Lotteries programs. This includes planning and execution of media shoots across Southeast Queensland.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead the planning and execution of ATL media for Mater Prize Home and Cars for Cancer to ensure creative is engaging, entertaining and emotive, all delivered on time to meet campaign deliverables.
  • Seek out and propose new ATL initiatives, in line with campaign strategy.
  • Lead DM creative, planning and execution at mail house and printers, to ensure campaigns are targeted to drive ticket sales across channels, lodged on time, and are an integral and effective part of the marketing mix for a campaign.
  • Lead photography days, on location, to ensure that each prize home is brought to life in a unique and creative way.
  • Write accurate and engaging copy that matches campaign creative and strategy.  This will include TV scripts, letters, briefing documents, run sheets, emails,
  • Assist with the development of patient and winner stories through video and written communication, to create an emotional connection with supporters on their journey to purchase.
  • Build and nurture beneficial and positive working relationships within the Lotteries team, stakeholders across the wider Mater Foundation business, and external agencies and media partners to ensure that Lotteries programs receive the necessary support and inputs from the wider business.
  • Ensure that all media is legally compliant with Gaming regulations, advertising law and Mater Brand guidelines.

About you

You will have tertiary qualification in marketing, media and or a related discipline and at least 4 years relevant work experience within a marketing team. You will also meet the below criteria:

  • A current Driver’s License
  • Demonstrated ability to develop clear plans and timelines, regularly communicate with stakeholders, and monitor project progress.
  • Ability to develop creative content tailored to the channel and audience. A good command of storytelling is essential.
  • Modern analytical capabilities with the ability to interpret and report on key findings.
  • The ability to develop relationships and work collaboratively with our agencies and to get the most out of our partners.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and organise work tasks
  • Copywriting experience with high attention to detail.
  • A thorough understanding of marketing principles and practice.
