About the role

The Mater Hospital Administration team has an opportunity available for an experienced Administration Officer to join the Endoscopy and Elective Surgery Team on a permanent part time basis, 19 hours per week. This position will be based at Mater's South Brisbane Campus.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join Mater’s professional Administration Services Team who provides exceptional care and service to our patients.

Salary range: $31.24 - $36.44 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

• Patient contacting to confirm demographics prior to presentation
• Screening questions in outbound calls
• Escalation of issues identified during screening
• Updating of patient demographics in iPM
• Incoming Telephone Enquiries
• Preparation of admission paperwork
• Prepare PEF forms and print patient labels
• Data entry
• Prepare and scan documentation
• Participate in the implementation of projects, undertaking training and education as necessary
• SMS messaging to confirm patient attendance for surgery
• Outbound calls to patients to confirm attendance
• Escalation of unconfirmed bookings to scheduling teams

About you

• Proven experience working in a team within the Medical/Healthcare profession desirable
• Experience in Administration or relevant qualifications regarded
• You enjoy engaging with people over the phone and have a clear, friendly and helpful phone manner
• The ability to balance conflicting demands within tight timeframes
• Ability to maintain composure and positivity in times of change
• Demonstrated ability to operate both in a team environment and autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning and strong listening and decision-making skills
• Deliver a patient centric approach and have a passion for delivering an exceptional experience
• Possess excellent written, verbal and communication skills
• Have a naturally inquisitive nature and drive to understand processes and systems
