About the role
Mater Research are looking for a as a Research Navigator to join the Research Compliance team. This permanent full-time position that will be based at our South Brisbane campus.
Mater Research is a recognised leader in medical research. Our bench to bedside philosophy sees us working across Mater Health’s hospitals and health services, The University of Queensland, and the world-class Translational Research Institute (TRI).
As a Research Navigator at Mater Research, you will play a crucial role in supporting Mater researchers through the research approval process. You will be responsible for providing end-to-end support to researchers in preparing and submitting high-quality applications for human research projects at all Mater locations. Your role will involve providing strategic support and advice to ensure compliance with various legislative, regulatory, and policy frameworks governing human research at Mater.
Salary range: $51.87 - $58.24 per hour plus 12% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
- Actively engage with researchers to provide support throughout the ethics and governance application process
- Provide end-to-end application support to researchers
- Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to bridge process gaps
- Deliver training programs and resources to raise awareness of research ethics and governance procedures
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards
- Promote and demonstrate Mater's Vision, Mission and Values
- Develop resources aligned with institutional and national guidelines, fostering strong connections with researchers to create a compliance environment that supports research success at Mater
About you
- Relevant degree or approved tertiary qualification in biological or health sciences
- Experience and training in clinical research or research ethics and governance processes
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with team members and colleagues
- Integrity with respect to confidentiality
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Understanding of relevant legislation, codes, and guidelines in human research ethics
- Experience in research-related roles and evaluating research proposals
- Proficiency in using complex software systems for daily operations
