About the role

Mater Health Brisbane is currently seeking an Administration Team Leader for a maximum term contract from 28th July – 12th October to cover leave, full time 38 hours per week within the Cancer Care department. This role will provide support to the Cancer Care Centre, Dialysis and Infusions Administration staff.

In this role, it is expected to not only manage the day-to-day administrative operations efficiently but also actively contribute to strategic decision making, foster collaborative relationships and ensure a high level of accountability and performance within the team.

Salary range: $46.96 - $51.73 per hour plus 12% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

  • Manage and develop strategies to address issues, conflicts and facilitate a recognition and reward program within the team
  • Coordinate and manage effective rostering within the work unit, ensuring correct skill mix and cover is provided in line with the appropriate Enterprise Agreement and budgetary constraints
  • Delegate suitable work to members of the team
  • Identify, report and respond to and rectify workplace health and safety (WHS) concerns from within own reporting structure
  • Lead a high-level of workplace health and safety practices to promote a safe working environment.
  • Develop and manage high-level relationships with internal stakeholders to implement effective service objectives
  • Coordinate and determine priorities and timelines in consultation with peers
  • Flexible approach to the tasks and accountabilities within the scope of the role

About you

  • Administrative environment, particularly in healthcare, to provide specialised administrative support in a fast-paced setting
  • Demonstrate proven experience in managing and leading a team, preferably within the medical / healthcare professions
  • High-level ability to balance conflicting demands efficiently within tight timeframes, demonstrating excellent time management and prioritisation skills
  • Sound ability to manage a team and autonomously make decisions, with strong collaboration skills ability to adapt to a changing environment
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills to apply lateral thinking and identify solutions and make decisions in line with business guidelines and delegation
  • Substantial interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills, essential for effective team management and collaboration
