About the role
Mater Mothers' Hospital is seeking experienced and compassionate Registered Midwives to join our Ambulatory Services team. There are multiple permanent opportunities available at either a part-time or full-time capacity.
This role involves providing antenatal care via antenatal clinic to women with a range of pregnancy risks, from low to complex cases, as well as delivering homecare and postnatal services through home visits. You’ll play a key role in offering comprehensive support to women throughout their pregnancy and early postpartum journey.

Salary range: $41.74 - $53.53 per hour plus 12% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
The purpose of the Registered Midwife role within Ambulatory Services is to provide high-quality, patient-centred antenatal and postnatal care to women across a range of pregnancy needs, ensuring continuity of care from early pregnancy through to the postnatal period. The Registered Midwife will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care that addresses the physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs of women, while advocating for their unique requirements. By offering both clinic-based and homecare services, the role ensures that women receive the support they need to achieve the best possible outcomes for themselves and their families.
- Conduct midwifery antenatal checks and assessments to monitor the health and progress of pregnant women across a range of risk levels.
- Liaise with obstetric teams to ensure coordinated, comprehensive care and manage complex cases in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide support to staff on best practices for managing pregnancy care and improving outcomes for women in both antenatal and postnatal stages.
- Undertake homecare visits to provide personalised support and monitor the health and wellbeing of women in their home environment following discharge.
- Maintain current knowledge and skills through ongoing professional development to ensure continued growth and competence in the role.
About you
The successful candidates will have:
- Current registration with AHPRA (no restrictions)
- Post graduate experience preferably within an antenatal and postnatal environment
- Effective communication and clinical problem-solving skills to maximise patient care within the multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to the continuous improvement of health care and midwifery practice, and to continuing professional development of self and others
- Current drivers licence
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Evidence of continuing educational and professional development
- Ability to work in a team environment including the larger multidisciplinary team
- A strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to role model and promote the Mater values
