About the role

An exciting internal opportunity has become available within our Teleservices team for an experienced Senior Administration Officer to join the Mater Health Service. This role is a permanent full time role, 38 hours per week Monday through to Friday. 

The purpose of this position is to provide an efficient and effective and professional service for customers, patients and staff of the Mater Health Services through the Teleservices Centre and Reception in keeping with the Mater Philosophy.

Salary range: $39.79 - $44.25 per hour plus 12% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

  • You will make a positive impact with your team in delivering patient support services. The role is fast-paced and ever-changing.  Your efficient, best-practice processes will be evident
  • Coach, develop and supervise team members
  • Continual enhancement of service performance, processes, and practices to achieve high work standards by identifying and implementing improvement opportunities
  • Effective workforce management of service provision to meet business requirements and manage resources
  • Effectively communicate with patients, visitors, and all levels of staff
  • Build trusted relationships and effective working partnerships with internal stakeholders
  • Data entry of rosters and follow up where required
  • Develop training programs, facilitate knowledge sharing, and champion best practices for efficient administrative operations 
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of procedures, operational manuals, and work practices 
  • Act as a point of contact for matters for the team and provide expert guidance and support 
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and lead initiatives with approval to implement changes 
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively 
  • Manage and maintain accurate files, records, and discussions with the utmost discretion, adhering to all administrative and financial policies
  • Liaise effortlessly with various departments, fostering smooth communication and workflow

About you

  • Ability to work independently in an agile and fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues 
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and completeness in all documentation and processes, while maintaining a practical approach to avoid perfectionism that could hinder progress
