About the role

Applications are invited from motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Registered Midwives with a commitment to develop, deliver and evaluate educational activities, in an Education Coordinator position in Ambulatory & Birthing Services.

This is a maximum-term contract to cover leave from 13/10/2025-31/10/2025.

This role will work as part of the Mater Clinical Education team to meet current and emergent Mater staff learning needs, to provide safe and quality health care delivery and improve patient outcomes. Mater Clinical Education builds interprofessional workforce capacity, capability, and competence through the provision of contemporary and evidence-based education, learning activities and practice supports the achievement of educational and clinical excellence and optimal patient care services and experiences.

The role will report directly to the Assistant Director of Clinical Services – Ambulatory and Birthing and will work closely with Education Coordinators across Mater Clinical Education.

Salary range: $66.85 - $72.58 (RN3) per hour plus 12% superannuation and 
access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

This role will work as part of the Mater Clinical Education team to support education programs and services, including the Birth Suite and Ambulatory Services.

Other responsibilities will include

  • supporting with implementation of strategic and operational plans for clinical education and translational simulation programs
  • coordination and delivery of education programs and translational simulation activities
  • coordination of program review, design, and development with input into strategic and operational activities associated to program delivery
  • management of clinical facilitators

About you

To be considered for this role, you will meet the following criteria: 

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Midwife (no restrictions)
  • Tertiary qualifications in education and/or simulation
  • Tertiary qualifications in midwifery are highly desirable
  • Clinical expertise in ambulatory and/or birthing
  • Simulation education experience an advantage
  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
  • Demonstrated high level competence with Microsoft word, Excel, Microsoft Access, and PowerPoint
  • The ability to work outside of standard hours if/when required
  • Offsite delivery of activities including within the local area, and state-wide if required
