About the role
Mater Foodservices are currently accepting applications for Foodservice Assistants to join our Cold Larder team located at our South Brisbane campus. There are 2x Full-time Maximum term contracts until 2026 working 38 hours per week.
This position is responsible for performing food services tasks, predominantly in the larder room preparing sandwiches, salads and plating chilled options for the menu. Provides support to the kitchen team to ensure a safe, efficient meal service to Mater Patients.
(Operational Employees) Salary range: $31.24 - $33.68 per hour plus 12% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
- Adhere to all food safety guidelines/plans, policies, procedures, guidelines and work instructions relevant to provision of room service.
- Prepare food items, such as sandwiches, salads, soups, food for soft liquid diets and beverages as directed by Food Service Supervisors in a safe and hygienic manner.
- Adhere to all health, hygiene and safety guidelines and report any health and safety risks (including near misses) and equipment failures in a timely manner to your Supervisor.
- Understand and work towards achieving all key performance indicators across all Mater kitchens and food service areas.
- Be familiar with and follow safe work procedures when performing all tasks during your shift.
- Develop strong work relationships and function as part of an effective kitchen and Mater team to ensure delivery of food for patient is completed within required time frames and at the highest standard.
- Maintain an orderly, clean and sanitary work area.
- Respect patient rights and the confidentiality of all matters relating to patients, guests, their families and other staff.
- Participates and successfully completes all training requirements relevant to the position and Mater Mandatory training.
About you
- Successful completion of the Food Safety & Hygiene Training module.
- Ability to read, follow and understand recipes, recipes methods and product being utilised for production.
- Ability to achieve goals and objectives with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
