Mater Research are looking for a Research Assistant in the Biomedical – Cancer Care Program to join the team! This casual role will be based at our South Brisbane campus.

This role offers the chance to contribute directly to life-changing cancer research while building valuable skills in clinical trials and biomedical research within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Salary range: $45.13 - $55.87 per hour plus 12% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

As a Research Assistant, you will support the coordination and administration of clinical trials and related research activities. You will assist with study start-up, documentation, and regulatory submissions while ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards.

This role also includes data collection and entry, maintaining trial records, and liaising with key stakeholders. You’ll be working closely with Clinical Trial Coordinators and have the opportunity to grow your research skills on the job.

About you

You will be an organised and motivated individual with a passion for contributing to impactful research. To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • A degree in health, biomedical science, or a related field
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) or willingness to develop this
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team
  • Previous experience in research or clinical trials (desirable but not essential)
