Mater Rockhampton is seeking expressions of interest from local Registered Nurses who have a passion for Midwifery and Women's Health.

Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton is offering a scholarship opportunity for a Registered Nurse to undertake a Graduate Certificate in Midwifery through a University of their choice in agreeance with Mater Rockhampton..

VACANCIES:

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:   

  • Currently living within 50km radius of Rockhampton.
  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration.
  • Acceptance to course by the Tertiary Institute.
  • A potential or existing employee with Mater Misericordiae working in a permanent full-time or part-time capacity.  
  • Agreement to remain in the employ of Mater Misericordiae in the role of Registered Midwife for the equivalent of two (2) years* following attainment of endorsement and registration as a midwife.

* this represents 3,952 worked hours exclusive of overtime and paid and unpaid leave; i.e. personal/carer’s leave, annual leave, long service leave, Workcover, leave without pay, etc.

  • Commitment to meeting course requirements through a flexible learning regime that is conducted over 12-18 months.
  • Able to commence studies by no later than  1st January 2025 or 1st July 2025

MATER ROCKHAMPTON SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTMENTS:

  • All course fees will be paid.
  • All Travel and accommodation for Residential school will be paid for
  • Provide reasonable, flexible working hours to support study commitments.

APPLICATION AND SELECTION:

Submit an expression of interest of approximately 500 words on why you are applying for the scholarship and why you believe you are should be selected. You will be required to upload this as apart of your application. 

Applicants will be subject to an interview by a selection committee.

*Applicants who are not already employees of Mater Misericordiae must include a current curriculum vitae. *
