About the role
The Mater Refugee and Multicultural Health Service currently has an opportunity for an experienced Administration Officer to join the team in a permanent part time capacity, 22 hours per week.

The Administration Officer plays a key role in the delivery of exceptional service to Mater patients, relatives and staff. This role will suit a person looking to develop a career in public health administration, and working with multicultural communities.
The core function of the role is to support the daily administrative operational requirements of Mater Refugee and Multicultural Health Service with a specific focus on operational efficiency in a clinical setting. To proactively perform tasks relating to service delivery, business support, systems administration, and any other tasks as directed by the Team Leader/Manager, ensuring work performed is exceptional, every time.
The role will work closely with the Operations Manager, Senior Administration Officers and Nursing team, and will be responsible for supporting the management of resources to meet business needs and growth.
Salary range: $36.51 - $40.81 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Providing face-to-face and telephone administrative support with strong customer focus to patients, visitors and staff, ensuring effective communication between various services within the hospital.
- Updating patient details, assisting with enquires with referral management and appointment scheduling.
- Carrying out other administration duties as directed by your line manager.
About you
As the successful applicant, you will possess the following:
- Excellent computer skills with ability to learn and use software systems quickly
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Teams, Excel, Word, Powerpoint
- Have exceptional communication skills and strong English proficiency
- Form and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Be accurate and efficient in data management
- Able to work independently to prioritise and manage mulitple tasks.
- Previous experience in a health setting – desirable
- Speak multiple languages – desirable
