Mater is inviting Expressions of Interest for the position of Director of Surgery.
The Director of Surgery is one of 9 Director roles for Senior Medical Officers who lead our largest services, with responsibilities that encompass all the domains of the quadruple aim. The Director reports operationally to the General Manager for Mater Hospital Brisbane.
Those in Director roles in MHB and across Mater also fulfil a key strategic role, working closely with the Chief Medical Officer in helping to inform policy and practice, standards, champion benchmarking and lead new models of care for their specialities, across the whole Mater Group.
The Director of Surgery position will be a temporary appointment in the first instance, up until June 2025. Details of the position are contained in the attached Position Description.
In preparing a written EOI (maximum 500 words), please refer to the Mater Group Strategy, Mission, Vision, Values as well as a short version of the attached Mater Health Plan 2021-2025. Please provide some specific examples of how you contribute to the Quadruple aim of healthcare: improve outcomes, improve the experience for healthcare consumers as well as our people, and wise stewardship of our resources. Please also briefly outline what you see to be the important priorities for the Director of Surgery over the next 12 months.
Salary: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
