About the role
Mater Private Hospital Townsville are currently seeking a HP3 Physiotherapist to join our Allied Health team. The successful applicant will be offered Fixed Term contract until December 2025, where you will work a minimum of 30 hours a week, with the potential for up to 38 hours (as required). Our Allied Health team operate out of both our Pimlico and Hyde Park campus, where you will work across both inpatient and outpatient patients as required. Inpatient caseload may include; orthopaedics, surgical, intensive care, cardiothoracic care, medical and women’s health- as appropriate.
Salary range: $39.86 - $58.59 (HP3) per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you'll be doing.
Typical tasks of the role include:
- Undertake routine clinical practice within established clinical protocols at Mater Townsville Physiotherapy Department
- Apply increasing clinical judgement to more complex cases under clinical practice supervision
- Provide delegation, supervision, training and support to less experienced health practitioners, allied health assistants, students, support staff and volunteers
- Contribute to the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols within professional and multidisciplinary teams
- Identify, develop and participate in quality and service improvement activities to continually improve clinical services and patient outcomes
- Actively participate in professional and multidisciplinary teams, and liaise with patients, their families/carers and external agencies
- Participate in continuing professional development activities to further develop clinical practice and expertise
About you
You will be a AHPRA registered Physiotherapist as recognised by the Australian Physiotherapy Council. You will also meet the below criteria:
- Broad experience working in an acute hospital setting and across rehabilitation services- desired. Note: New graduates are also welcome to apply.
- Eligibility to receive a Medicare provider number
- A demonstrated ability to provide exceptional Physiotherapy clinical services commensurate with level, and to manage a varying caseload day to day, including provision of an appropriate clinical handover as required
- Demonstrated attributes of solutions focus, flexibility and resilience
- Demonstrated clinical practice and application of clinical judgement in the provision of high quality, evidence based, patient centred care
- Effective communication skills and demonstrated ability to work co-operatively with professional and multi-disciplinary teams, patients and carers to achieve optimal outcomes
