About the role
We have a unique opportunity for an experienced and passionate Medical Workforce Coordinator to join our high achieving Medical Workforce Unit. This is a permanent full-time role, based at the South Brisbane campus. We also offer a flexible working model including working from home where appropriate.
The Medical Workforce Unit at Mater in South Brisbane are responsible for managing all medical workforce functions for Junior Medical Staff at Mater South Brisbane and Mater Springfield. This includes advertising, recruitment, onboarding, roster and leave management and performance management.
Salary: $53.24 - $57.92 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you'll be doing
This role is designed to work collaboratively within the Medical Workforce Unit to ensure streamlined and efficient recruitment, allocation, and rostering of junior medical officers to Mater Health.
- Work closely with the Director Medical Education and Workforce and Medical Workforce Manager to ensure that junior medical officers reach optimal performance and ongoing professional and career development is effective and efficiently achieved throughout Mater Health.
- Coordination of the statewide RMO Campaign. This will include, but will not be limited to, liaising with Qld Health regarding promotional materials; establishment reporting and data review
- Coordination of the recruitment process of PGY2 and PGY3 candidates
- Assisting all Units in the RMO Campaign process for PHOs/Registrars and Fellows
- Assisting in the recruitment process for International Medical Graduates (IMG)
- Developing and improving allocations and rostering of Junior Medical Officers to ensure no gaps in the medical workforce
- Assist in development, distribute, and coordinate the yearly rotation and leave allocations for rotational junior medical staff based on successful candidates’ preferences, rotation availability, training prerequisites and accreditation standards.
About you
- Previous experience as a medical workforce coordinator
- Sound understanding of the junior medical workforce roles and responsibilities including medical recruitment
- Ability to plan, develop and maintain rostering and allocation procedures for junior medical workforce
- Initiative and ability to source information from government and regulatory bodies
- High level communication and liaison skills with internal and external stakeholders
- High level systems and ICT capability
- Strong quality improvement approach and mindset
- Understanding or willingness to rapidly learn the accreditation standards applied for Junior Medical Officer positions set out by Australian Medical Council.
