About the role

Mater Health has an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Facilitator to join our team in a permanent part time, 16 hours per week role. This CF position will see you provide expert clinical guidance and learning development for staff across our Operating Theatre and Post Anaesthetic Recovery Units (PACU).

Based at our Bundaberg location, you will provide direct and indirect support and supervision to clinicians to promote and facilitate positive clinical outcomes and High Value Healthcare. You will plan, deliver and evaluate clinical education to meet current and emergent Mater staff learning needs and support staff to work at top of scope.

Salary range: $54.44 - $58.30 (RN level 2) per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate clinical learning opportunities to address knowledge and skill gaps
  • Collaborate to create flexible and evidence-based learning resources
  • Communicate effectively and contribute positively to the workplace
  • Support professional development and performance improvement processes
  • Provide constructive feedback to staff
  • Use simulation and other methodologies to enhance knowledge application and critical thinking
  • Seek innovation and improvement in education and clinical practice
  • Embrace and support staff through change processes
  • Engage in educational research and quality improvement activities
  • Ensure staff meet education requirements
  • Promote a culture of learning and empowerment
  • Partner with interprofessional staff and patients to determine priorities
  • Align education activities with best practices and technology
  • Maintain relationships with partners to enhance education and clinical services
  • Utilise data for decision-making and reporting
  • Support Transition to Professional Practice staff and students
  • Contribute to corporate education programs and seek feedback for improvements
  • Assist with orientation and onboarding programs
  • Identify evidence-based improvements for high-quality care
  • Promote staff satisfaction and improve clinical outcomes through professional development

About you

  • Current and unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Midwife
  • Postgraduate qualifications in relevant specialty or working towards them
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or working towards it
  • Minimum of three years clinical experience (specialty preferred)
  • Experience in clinical facilitation, supervision, or preceptorship
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating clinical education
  • Knowledge of education and training in Australian healthcare organisations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and ability to learn relevant computer applications
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Analytical problem-solving skills and ability to find innovative solutions
  • Ability to work with diverse groups, including volunteers and community organisations
  • Negotiation and delivery of various training solutions, including support, classroom training, presentations, and online learning
  • Adaptability to changing demands in a dynamic organisation
  • Ability to work well in a team or independently with minimal supervision
