About the role
The Mater Hospital Brisbane has an opportunity available for an experienced Business Support Officer to join their administration team and support the Palliative Care and Haematology Director and medical team as well as backfilling support for the Medical Oncology team.
This position will be offered on a permanent full time basis. The successful candidate will need to be available to work Monday to Friday.
Salary range: $38.81 - $43.16 per hour plus 12% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Some of your duties will include (but will not be limited to):
Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Palliative Care and Haematology Director and medical team as well as backfilling support for the Medical Oncology team
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, databases, and filing systems in compliance with hospital policies and procedures
Maintenance of medical doctors on call rosters
Support the medical team with timesheet management including application of on call and overtime allowances.
Collaborate with department staff to ensure smooth workflow and efficient communication within the Department
Provide support to the department Senior Clinicians
Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures
Support the coordination of departmental projects and initiatives, including research and data analysis
About you
Proven experience in a similar administrative role, preferably within a healthcare setting
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively
Ability to work autonomously and part of a wider team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with various stakeholders
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software
Familiarity with financial management principles, including budgeting and invoicing processes
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment
Experience in a similar Business Support role would be very favourable
