About the role

Mater Private Hospital Townsville has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Dietitian to join the Allied Health team. The successful applicant will join the team on a permanent full time basis where you will work out of our Pimlico and Hyde Park campus.

Salary range: $64.64 - $69.55 per hour plus 12% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing

The Senior Dietitian is responsible for the service delivery across one or more clinical areas to ensure evidence based clinical standards are maintained, deliver on quality improvement and service development initiatives and contribute to the professional development of less experienced staff.

The successful applicant will also be responsible for:

  • Managing an allocated clinical workload to deliver a high-level Nutrition and Dietetic services across Mater Townsville. Clinical areas include Intensive Care, complex post-surgical gastroenterology, renal and general medicine.
  • Initiating, implementing and evaluating relevant quality improvement activities and clinical research projects based on best practice and valid evidence
  • Delivery of high level clinical dietetic services
  • Practice supervision, leadership and performance development to less experienced Nutrition & Dietetics clinical and operational staff and students

About you

  • High level of knowledge, expertise and skill in one or more areas of Nutrition and Dietetics, and ability to provide clinical services of a complex nature
  • Leadership/supervisory experience in health care.
  • Ability to provide clinical education, supervision and contribute to performance development assessment of less experienced dietitians, students and support staff
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication sills (both written and verbal) and the ability to liaise with a variety of different stakeholders both internally and externally
  • A strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to role model and promote the Mater values
